Father's Day ideas?

Typical story - need a gift for the guy who has everything. He's on the other side of the country so getting together isn't much of an option although I wish it was. Cost isn't an option, but we tend to steer toward funny and creative.

I've gotten him M&Ms with his picture on them. A box of chocolates that we coated in edible gold leaf along with a roll of TP that looked like $100's (get it?), one of those "get a royal title" kits, and even a carton of Marlboros one year where I just gave up.

What are you giving or what would you like to get? Let's share some ideas.

I am dropping my son off to boy scout summer camp in Guerneville area. After which, I've asked my wife to DD me to Russian River brewery and maybe more.

from the kids, I want something hand-made like a card or something.

Father's day now usually involves a bottle of whiskey and not wanting to talk to anyone.

Other side of the country? Pffft. Two plane tickets, meet in the middle.

whatever you do, start throwing in giftcards for southwest airlines... tell him once he has enough to fly out and visit. I did this for my mom and she really appreciated it

for my dad, I think we will just be going to dinner or something this year

Thanks for the travel recommendations. The old man has more than enough money and freq flier miles to come visit. He's just pretty busy and prefers we come to him. I'll see him this summer, just not for Father's Day. Also need some other ideas fro his birthday and Christmas. Just thought we could all throw some ideas out. I'm sure I'm not the only one in this boat.

So I just got a coupon for this: http://sf.hopsy.beer/the-sub

It's a draft beer dispenser made by Krups. You can buy 2 Liter bottles from a bunch of small breweries and they will ship it to you.

The coupon is for a free dispenser (normally 149). I am not affiliated with this at all, but I did buy one.

Use the code TAP4DAD during checkout and save 149 bucks.

Think I'm gonna have to get one of those for myself.

consumables and a platform that's incompatible with others...so if you have it, you have to go through them to get the beer.

2L = a little over 4 pints
at ~$20 a 2L, that's about $5 a pint
cheaper than a pint on the peninsula, but more expensive than a keg's per-pint price, and more than bottled beer.

it'll add up. 4 pints can go down quickly. not saying it isn't worth it, though.

if anyone gets it I'd like to hear a review.

lol...after what I do for them?!? oh yeah, they gotta make something for me. Furthermore, they will be judged against each other by artistic expression, degree of difficulty and execution. At that time I will determine which one is my favorite for the year. It's a really big deal in my family.

:p
