Family truck ideas?

Whatever that means
I'm considering selling my widdle Fiesta ST to get a truck.
Was thinking of a used Ridgeline or Avalanche.

Something I can carry some people and stuff with and bikes.

I'm going on 11 years rocking a Nissan Frontier 4 door dad cab. 2WD, V6, 6 ft bed and a 6 speed manual. Its been a good truck. Hauls kids and family crap well.

I have a Colorado; 4dr, v6, 4wd, and really like it. Does great in deep snow in 4 low, does great in chain control 4 high, even has 4auto when not enough snow for chain control but want a little more peace of mind.

You really can't go wrong with any of the new truck lines.

Not a fan of the Avalanche and all the plastic, but GM does such a killer job with their 4auto.

My 2010 Honda Ridgeline has been very low maintenance and drives nicely. It averages 15mpg no matter highway or local, which the bigger trucks can match or do better. I would not replace it with the new Honda mostly based on appearance. It's not for hardcore offroad, but it has seen plenty of fire trails and meeting up with friends camping on the dunes. Mine has an ARE shell and I tow a 7X12 trailer. Would recommend.

That fuel economy is actually disappointing to read. I would have expected around 25mpg from Ridgeline.

I was thinking about a Ridgeline to replace my 1990 Toyota, but that made me really reconsider.

It has always amused me how similar the profiles are, the Ridgeline and the Avalanche. It's kinda weird you mentioned just those 2 trucks.
I worked as a tech for Honda for a while. My experience taught me that Honda builds amazingly strong and dependable smaller vehicles but the bigger stuff can become money pits fairly quickly. Compliance bushings are the first things that come to mind. As always, YMMV.

When it comes to bigger cars I’m either a GM or Toyota fan. 5 people with all their crap you’d want a full size either Tundra or Silverado or even a Suburban. Not sure how you’d like that Honda all loaded down I’d for sure want a V8 or at least NOT a NA V6.

+1 to a full size truck for 5 people

The back middle seat of my 4dr Taco is pretty damn small. 2 teenagers and a young kid in the back seat is pushing it for every day use.
