Anyone here have anecdotal ideas on how long a BMW S1000RR would last as a track only bike? I'm working on an endurance racing project and want to use this engine. Bike is so powerful I'm guessing most street riding is fairly "relaxed" by comparison to continuous trashing on the track.

I have a friend with 25k on a built S1000RR. He's an instructor.
IIRC it's best to replace some bearing at the clutch.

If you want to spend hundreds of dollars to obtain something of limited value, sure.

My super-built 2010 had nearly 40K miles on it before it got retired, and that included two full seasons of AMA Superbike and a trip to Macau to race the GP. So, it had maybe 10k miles of pure track work? Maybe 15k?
I guarantee it got flogged harder during those track miles than you're going to do to yours.
During that time it had no bottom-end work done other than the initial build.
I try to flog my engines just a little harder than your average superbike rider

Honestly that is a pretty impressive testimony.
So folks never do oil analysis on their bikes? I have done it on my racecars and the information is "interesting" although I can't say it led to any real practical changes in our plans. In my experience in endurance racing engines go from "running fine" to "sploded" pretty quickly and I don't think the oil analysis allowed us to "predict it".

Yeah, basically oil is cheap, even the best synthetic, and if you're really worried, change it more often. My typical race/track bikes will get oil changed at 1,000 to 2500 mile intervals, unless they've gotten really hot.
