So who's playing this?

I started last night, Wood Elf Archer with the Ebonheart Pact. Got maybe an hour in and got to Level 5.

It plays a lot like Skyrim. Graphics are awesome on PC, lots of detail everywhere, the world feels much more lived in than in previous iterations. I can't wait to get to Cyrodiil, as much as I loved Skyrim it wasn't as good-looking as Cyrodiil was in Oblivion.

I played the beta, and uninstalled it an hour later.

When the game came out for pre-release, my friend let me play his account - HOLY SHIT! Somehow it was a completely different experience, so I bought it. Now I'm lvl 15 Breton Templar (DaggerFall).

I love the ability to go hybrid tank / damage, the open skills and attribute progression really make the game fun. Oh, and when I feel like I'm grinding I just go PVP into the Alliance War and that usually takes up a few HOURS of time ;)

Beau did you ever beat Skyrim?

Is that even possible? I pretty much gave it up when my guy became invincible; there wasn't much left to do except to collect more gear and sell it (had over 1,000,000 gold when I quit).

There was nothing I couldn't kill in with one or two arrows from my bow.

I played the beta. It was a pretty fun, but I'm playing diablo 3 expansion now. It's like a new game if you haven't played in the past 2 years.

I'm a console looser so I'll just be lurking this thread waiting for screencaps.

Here you go.

Played the Beta and found it boring as hell. A friend picked it up for me on the promise I'd give it a try since I've not ever managed to get into a Fantasy MMO and I've tried to stay away from them after just shy of two years in Eve a long while ago.
Played during the Early Access during the weekend and holy hell.. sooo much better than the betas. It's a lot of fun and I was surprised to find that my favorite thing about the Elder Scrolls is still intact. Though just wandering aimlessly through huge tracks of wilderness seems to annoy the crap out of my friend when 'We should be questing' but I'm enjoying just wandering and resource gathering probably more than I should.

That's exactly what I've been doing. I've been hiking around in the woods chopping maple, gathering jute, and pickaxing iron, and fishing. Now I'm gonna need a bigger backpack.

I did a lot of that in Skyrim too. Shit I still have not "finished" Skyrim because I get sidetracked so easily.

I actually started a new character, I somehow missed the character customization stuff on the start screen and ended up with a scrawny looking unbearded teenaged wood elf Dragonknight. Can't have that.

This is my first fantasy MMO too. I've never played World of Warcraft of Everquest or any of that stuff. The only other MMO I've played is Planetside 2.

That is pretty much my favorite thing about TES. I got hooked on Morrowind and have been slightly disappointed with each iteration since but they have all been -fun-.
The game looks great on my some what out of date rig ( Win7, Core i5 2800k, 8GB DDR3 1333; 760 GTX and a 840 EVO SSD for the OS drive and caching partion, ESO is installed on an old WD Raptor I had laying around.)
I'm running it at the native rez of my U2713 (2560x1440) with all settings maxed out and outside of Dark Anchors with +20 players in an instance all spamming spells and stuff I never see it drop below 60fps which is the limit of my monitor's refresh rate anyway.

I love how different each area has looked, they are all striking and memorable so far. Combat is fun, not too MMO-ish. But I just love wandering around and finding random stuff!

I got the Imperial edition and play this game with my oldest son. I'm white knuckling it through a flare up with my back though, so no gaming last week (or until I get some injections); just too painful to sit up right now. Have a 13 Dunmer, playing Ebonheart faction but have no real ties yet - I've spent most of my time exploring and crafting. I hope to be back up and around within a week though. :)

I wish i could have played a demo before purchasing the game. The controls are clunky, no sound, seemingly no hit detection, extremely boring. It felt nothing like Skyrim and It did not give me any desire to play past lvl 3

The real question is how does it stand up to WoW? Pre-burning crusade? Post-? WoW is pretty much the only MMORPG I've ever played besides Planetside 1 and 2, which aren't quite in the same category.

Is it summer yet?
Ha, I'm 525 hours into Skyrim. With the skyrim nexus mods the game goes on forever. I thought about ESOL but I don't think my computer could run it well plus I don't care for MMOs, I'm so antisocial I can't even play with others in a virtual world. :laughing

WoW is really the only MMO has stood against the test of time. They've done a lot of things wrong, but also a lot of things right. Its hard to compete with WoW.
