Daniel503A will there in open C. He's also riding baja with us and you this winter too. :laughing

I'm honestly afraid to try it.... saw videos of the first year when it rained. Until i get into better shape, I think it would wise for me to not die! :x

Many of us will be at Hollister for the Harescramble on Nov 10th. I'm pretty sure to be there.

Good luck and share video!

Yeah conditions that first year were gnarly; so muddy you couldn't see. Don't worry, this year it will only be so dusty you can't see!

The race was really hard. It was unbelievably dusty. There was some fun rock slab, but also a pretty difficult rock garden that went on forever. The toughest part was the ruts; HUGE ruts filled with silt.

The lap was only about 6 miles. I did 5 laps in 2h 13m 54s. That got me 12th of 41 in my class and 56th of 256 starters overall.
To give some perspective on the difficulty, 33% of the field did not finish. There were 85 DNFs of the 256 starters.

My GoPro recorded the first 3 laps before dying, I'll post that video after I've stitched the chapters together.

After breathing dust for 2.5 hours, it was painful to take a deep breath. That can't be healthy?

Nice finish! I'll bet that dust was nasty, that high mountain silt stays in the air for ever....I think they may a special dust mask for moto riding that is neoprene with a changeable filter element; looks uncomfortable but so does breathing that stuff for 3 hrs.

Thanks for the update and can't wait to see some of the vids.

congrats on finishing, for sure. So many DNF's on Sunday, brutal stuff.
This was my reward for hanging on too tight and not knowing how to ride smooth:
(That hurt for the last hour of racing :( Hard to hold on!)
(Hey, you can also see the dent I got in my brand new pipe!)

:thumbup Nice job Wiles! Impressive, seriously. No way I would have made it more than a lap. :laughing

Looking forward to the footage.

I hope to have some very... interesting video to upload once I get my gopro studio software working again
(third race, where I get lapped by Cody Webb over, and over again)

probably way easier than Cody would have preferred!

Yeah that stuff looks crazy. I've been in it before. Looks firm then you take a step and you're up to your calves.
