so i love playing catch, and ive always wondered how people throw all those crazy pitches. i can throw a normal fastball pretty straight in the vicinity of the catcher, but i cant actually locate. it just goes wherever. and i know im holding it all wrong. how do i hold a 4seamer and 2seamer. any tips to help learn all this normally(not paying for any sort of lesson)? is it hard to learn to throw curves, splitters, changeups, etc?

i cant throw a perfectly straight fastball, but i can throw a dman fine curvball that always goes where i want.....i havnt been trained correclty and dont play baseball at all, my friend show me,
get the ball in hte palm of your hand, then put your first three fingers right infront of the strings, then throw like a fastball, but put a slight underhand and to the bottom right spin (if youre right handed) 20 throws, and youll get the feel for it and get it jsut right....agian i dont know if this is the correct way to do it, but it works for me, and my friend throws an awsome curvball the same way, much better then mine, you cna reallysee it curve, very cool

what do u want to learn?
when warming up, throw in your changeup grips (either middle ring pinky on the ball and thumb and pointy finger imitating a circle(ala greg maddux grip ) or all four finger on the ball. this way you get the feel for the changeup grip.

lethal combo in a pitchers arsenal are a good fastball and a great changeup.

curveball grip. grip the ball loosely like your giving the finger and aim at the batters head with a downward flick to create the spin and the ball willbreak depending on the velocity and angle of your throw.

practice makes perfect.

screwball....thrownthe baseball at 3/4 angle with a lot of spin when you release your baseball with your fingers.

its better if i show.

when throwing fastball or anykind of pitches , do not aim or locate the ball...its a sense thing that comes from practice. when you try to aim thats when your accuracy goes kaboom. its muscle memory and kinda hard to explain.

4 seam(higher velocity fb you hold across the seams)
2 seam fb you hold parallel to the seams (it has almost like a cut or taillike movement at the end if you do it right)

its all a matter of preference.

some guys hold their balls differently that the others depending on their finger and hand size.

do you pitch a 2 seamer exactly the same as a 4 seam ? and with the 2 seam which way is the ball facing (is the loop pointing at your palm?
