So, I know it launched today, and I am pretty much a slam dunk to sign up, but I figured I would get some feedback from early adopters before I added another subscription on?

Who is using it so far? What Platform? I still have an old PlayStation 3 I use to HDMI my streaming services to the TV, so I am hoping the Sony Store gets an App.

How is the UI?

Does it have the content you were expecting available?

Is The Mandalorian Available all at once or do we have to wait for weekly releases?

Only the first ep is available. I guess there's a free trial for the Disney bullshits so my wife just signed up for it :laughing

Hrm. Maybe I will wait a whiel for teh content to develop. I got a Starz subscription aded to my Prime when Ash vs. Evil Dead came out, but now that it is canceled, I reckon I can just close that add one and pay for D+ once the content is there.

What is it? Free access to Disneyland?

Nah, they created a new streaming Service to compete with Netflix.

I heard from hardcore Disney family that today they tried to use it but it was laggy/crashed a bunch. I'd wait till they figure out their mass testing

I like it so far.

I was up with a sick kiddo at about 3am Tuesday morning and remember that I'd signed up for it. To distract the little for her discomfort, we turned to Disney +. Unfortunately, it didn't work very well. Things weren't loading and it was very slow when they did.

By mid-morning, it seems they worked out the kinks regarding connectivity.

Lots of movies that aren't in any single place, unless you own hardcopies. All her favorite Disney princess movies are on there, old and new. I forgot how many movies are Disney movies, and just how large their library is.

It seems that there is no auto-play, for when you're watching a TV show, which is quite odd. There's a few other odd UI/UX things that I'm sure they're highly motivated to change and make this platform work at the level Netflix does.

I had Hulu previously, just cancelled that and went with the D+ bundle and we'll see how it goes.

What does Hulu offer? Wondering if I should go for the more expensive bundle that comes with ESPN+ as well.

It had some hiccups on launch and some things stalled on me last night. I assume it's load balancing issues that will be easily overcome once things settle.

I like it. I have a 2 year old so it works for us.

So now I'm at

Hulu, Spotify, Showtime (bundle price at $4.99 (student))
Netflix ($15.99)
Disney+ ($5.80)

$25 a month and then ad hoc purchases on Prime and Vudu

Not bad :dunno

Hmm...

We have Philo tv but rarely watch anything and Netflix.

I may cancel the Philo ($20/month) and get Disney streaming.

Also got a free year of Apple TV + but so far it's weak.

Hulu offers a live TV option, which I've never used.

They will be the home for all Disney R movies while Disney + will be totally "family friendly".

There's a bunch of TV shows, non-live/streaming, offered on Hulu, and some original offerings as well. We have had it for about a year, but don't use it that often.

In order of use we're Netflix, Prime, Sling, Hulu.

We'll see where Disney+ lands in time.

I loaded it on the FireStick and while the UI was not as responsive, the video playback was great.

Plenty of content available if you are into Disney/Pixar/Marvel.

I can't square this thread with the manliness of shorts discussion.

There is only one streaming service that owns all the Captain America intellectual property, Son.

Besides, I think you are missing the point of that thread posts statement. Shoveling snow in shorts is manly as fuck, the point is a grown ass man knows how he is supposed to dress out in the world around other adults and behaves accordingly. You must understand most of the clothing that I support are in styles that have existed for at least 60 years, often much longer.

All that content has us by the balls. I should cancel my Netflix.

I will probably keep mine, I need more Altered Carbon, but my Starz Membership on Prime is probably toast.

Wait so how does that work out for the Netflix Marvel shows then? Those definitely weren't PG rated so is Disney planning to split them up and stick those in Hulu? Or dumb them back down to PG rating? I friggin loved Punisher and Daredevil and hope they come back.

I've been waiting to see what content is available. I have no kids. Marvel is Meh. But I suspect my interest in Star Wars might draw me in if there is a significant amount of new content.

BTW, a year ago I switched to a Roku from a PS3 for online viewing. I got tired of constant required updates to the firmware and apps every 3rd time I wanted to sit down for a few minutes and melt my brain. It seems like I spent more time waiting for updates to load than watching TV. Maybe you're not having the issue, but I thought I'd throw it out there in case you were and you were tired of it.

No issue, I have Netflix and Prime on there. I rarely play video games. Updates are only every few months. I don't use a ton of apps, just those two mainly. I like to watch my movies and shows, but I stay pretty busy doing other stuff most the time.
