Wish I could, we are splitting the cases on the Gas Gas this weekend. Kevin's also experimenting with new carbs on the Husaberg, so both the bikes are down for the weekend :(

I'm new to dirt riding and would like to go, but Sat isn't going to work for me, how about sunday????

Sorry, can't do Sunday. If it is your first time, you can just go to Metcalf. Take the Bernal exit off 101 and then Monterey Rd south. It is like 2nd or 3rd light to the left and up Metcalf Rd. If you go to Hollister, try the Vintage track and the TT Track. They are fun and easy.

I will be at Hollister at around 10 AM Saturday at the parking lot to the left just after the TT Track. Look for a Tundra with a Suzuki DRZ, a KTM and a YZ400. :teeth

Hey supergirl, I'm hoping to go hit some dirt (for the first time) next sunday. Metcalf or whatever makes no diff to me, it would be cool not to make a fool of myself as 4 year olds pass on me on the trails. If you can make it next sunday, let me know.

got all my gear, cept a helmet.

We had a blast on Saturday. It is very dry but since there was only a few riders, not too much dust. On the TT Track I tried to slide the rear entering the turns like a pro and I low sided. Damage to the rider: none. Damage to the bike: none. That's what I like about dirt riding :teeth

I ride a 98 YZ400F. I have been riding on the dirt since 10 months (yes I am a rookie :p)

We are probably going to ride on the dirt next week end (since the Training Wheels enduro has been postponed one more time) but I don't know when/where yet. Could bew Hollister, Stoneyford or ForestHill...

Have you guys ever gone to Carnegie in livermore. It is a nice hilly place to ride, couple of tracks. that is where i go since i live in fremont, it is about 1/2 hr from my house. for all the new riders to dirt i have a few pic's for you, the things not to do kind of photos. I went down i hill i was not familiar with and oh lord, did i reget it, the quad rolled over me and down the hill, i was fine, plastic all scratched, new handlebars, and a little stitch work to the plastic. I broke all the rules that day.
1) riding alone
2) in a place not familiar with
3) in the expert, not recomended for atv section(i know, i knw)
4) going down a hill i have not gone up yet

I want to put a plaque next to my stitches on my quad to remind me of that day and all of the mistakes i made. I was very lucky i was not hurt.

here are the pic's, you may have to copy the link and paste it to your browser to view, i am still learning.
