I used to live in the Berkeley hills. I slept on the (flat) roof to watch the Perseids. Had a nice, mellow time in my sleeping bag watching them go by.
I guess that's sorta relevant.
Once (around '96) I went camping w/ some friends in Redwood NP (Flint Ridge campground). We didn't plan it, but happened to witness a pretty fantastic series of shooting stars as we bedded down.
My buddy Sam woke up with a banana slug on his head, just above his left temple. The slime wouldn't rinse out for the whole weekend. Looked like he had a little cowlick on the side of his head.
That's all I've got.
