I have to be under 96DB's at the track I ride at here in AZ. Just finished my SV650 trackbike build. I'm looking at installing an M4 slip on, but when I contacted M4 I couldnt get a straight answer on DB numbers with and with out the inserts. Anybody here run an M4 or even a yosh on an sv650 with DB numbers?
Thanks

It will depend if pipe is old and packing burned or fresh.
I think with fresh packing and insert you may be close.

They can't give you an exact answer because there isn't one. It's not possible.

There are way too many variables to consider:
Distance from the exhaust output to the dB meter.
Angle of the exhaust output.
Angle of the meter.
Humidity / air density.
Throttle position.
Surrounding topography.
Different dB meter.
Handheld meters cause different readings due to the damping effects of holding the meter (skin, clothing, proximity to the body, etc.)

If any one of those is different from one test to the next, you will get a different reading. Don't bother with phone apps, they are worthless. Yes, you'll get a 'reading' but they aren't accurate for all the reasons listed above.
