Dashcam catches Ford tech abusing customer's Mustang

Making its way around the web from what it looks like. Lawyers involved now. Fuck dealerships that abuse vehicles, and particularly fuck mechanics that have that attitude.

Fuck consumers who abuse rental cars too.

Why can't we abuse rental cars? :confused

Isn't that like a special right that one is afforded when renting said rust bucket that company X will make its valube back 5x over?

I mean, I have never done this. But a buddy sure had a lot of fun in a rented dodge charger when we went to Austin MotoGP. That thing HAD to have needed new rear tires and brake rotors, with pads. (no burnouts but certainly drifted a few country roads..) :D

While I am nowhere near the kind of incompetent technician that those two backwoods half as dipshits are, I will agree with them on one thing. It was a V6 automatic. Essentially the rental car version of a Mustang. Why bother with the programmer, exhaust, lowering, and so on? I know some people don't care about power. But those mods suggest otherwise...so why not just get the performance version of the Mustang from the get go?

But yeah anyways, I've heard of more than a few people that have gotten their tit in the ringer because of in car cameras. One such instance was asshaterry involving a police car in for work.

I don't abuse rental cars for the sake of abusing rental cars.

But say, when I go visit my uncle on the family farm in MN, that car might come back fucking coating in mud...and it's going to get a pretty good suspension work out. This is what happens over the holidays, on dirt roads. Mats definitely get a good coating too... That's life, it's a farm, I don't sweat it too much since I know they're good at hosing that stuff off when it comes in.

Honestly, I wouldn't do anything in a rental car that I wouldn't do in my own car, if it was capable of doing certain things. Too bad my Prius is front wheel drive and really sucks balls in general. Put me in anything with a V8 and RWD and it will get flogged accordingly.

I get no pleasure from destroying machinery whether its mine or property of a large company so there is no change to my driving with either.

Anyhow whats all the drama about with this video, I didn't see a lot of abuse.

In the 80's you could get a 4-cyl

Friend of mine had one (a 2.3 Mustang), and he bragged about how it was twin spark.......ooh boy. Still only made like 100 hp

Well buckle up. The four pot is coming back for 2015 in the Mustang. Somehow the carryover V6 actually loses horsepower from this year's version. Ford is slotting the EcoBoost model as the middle child and the V6 continuing to be the base model/rental lot unit.

Irrelevant. You get a pony car with anything other than a V8, you're absolutely doing it wrong.

Those old SVO's were cool. Even with a working turbo they were still pretty gutless, but fun.

I'm surprised those guys thought they could actually blow it up in that amount of time. The thing would probably run for a week at the limiter.

Omg...10 grand sunk into a V6?

I can walk into my boss' office tomorrow morning, and strike a deal for a 2014 GT with the Brembo package he has at his Ford store for less than $30k otd. A car that's a helluva lot more fun, outperforms in every way, and probably is cheaper than what that dude has spent on his V6.
