So irritated at the moment. I'm pretty good with taking care of my things and I managed to break the Arai demist lock tab on my Corsair V this weekend.
For such a top tier helmet manufacturer I think it is such a weak design to what is a great helmet.

are you using an aftermarket shield? could be an issue.

i always loved the arai visor lock system. my agv corsa wont stay open past 30mph because the wind shuts it and the button release is sometimes hard to locate. i always like the arai better in that sense, but i agree, top shelf helmets shouldnt be made with flimsy parts.

good news is the replacement part is like 5 bucks.

I can't complain about arai, I've been wearing them for over twenty years and never had any issues but sometimes these things happen.

Wrong on "or nothing". We are blessed with several decent helmet brands, in my opinion.

We are also blessed that we can bitch about a $2 fix in 2017.
That doesn't mean that we SHOULD bitch about it, since it seems rather petty. :laughing

Didn't know you could buy arai aftermarket shields. Is that even possible

my buddy brought me 3 different screens from the philipines and they were fake as all hell. they wouldnt make a full seal around the rubber grommet and were super notchy when changing them out. one of them even had uneven eyebrow vents haha

I got a $30 eBay dark tint that is a great fit and in two years of wet paper towels scrubbing not even micro "spider web" scratches. Lucky I guess. it is a sob to remove and replace however but I have no need as I don't night ride with it.

Let me rephrase.
For Whammy its Arai or nothing. Just my 02.. don't have to be anyone else's.
Those of you who choose another brand, that's your right.
I don't want to impose my will or visions of what's right for you.
Whammy wants those who don't to decide on Arai to choose what's right for you.:thumbup

Have Arai's ear pods and vent pieces stopped falling off, like they used to 10-15 yrs ago?

With Arai you get a nice paint job and pretty colors but as far as function and safety you can get just as good or better for much less. I hate the shield changing release mechanism. Speaking as an owner of multiple Arai's.

My Signet X has a new pod/shield release and vents, they're much better and easier to use than the Signet Q I had for the preceding 4-5 years.

Of all the helmets ive tried on, see lots, Arais are comfortable and I'll likely keep buying them.

I'd wager that past $200, you're paying for things besides protection. Like comfort, styling, weight etc.

$600 isn't that big of a deal to me considering how much time my head spends in a helmet. If I could find something less expensive and equally comfortable/safe, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. No brand loyalty for me.
