Dames Care Volunteer Covid Deliveries

I don't know why I'm surprised, but the other day I asked in anyone was interested in helping deliver a few things that were being made for some nurses and WHAM! We now have a team of 30+ volunteers riding around the Bay Area picking up and delivering medical supplies to desperate institutions and people around the bay from Sonoma and beyond to Santa Cruz and Sacramento and beyond. If you want to join us, send me an email (lucytriple@yahoo.com) with your name, email, phone number, delivery area, availability and cargo ability!

If you know anyone looking for PPE you can direct them to fill out this form: https://forms.gle/mpDjcZkLK9mrQHwc8

If you know anyone who needs us to deliver the stuff you can direct them to our form: https://forms.gle/KKbSs2Yb3LQx1vfSA

If you or anyone would like to contribute to our cause, please share our GoFundMe with them: gf.me/u/xubuti

So going out for fun day rides is despicable and makes you a selfish person. But going out and riding to deliver PPE to hospitals makes you a saint?

BARF never ceases to amaze me.

Do you have a list of places that need it and contact information for the people in each location?
Where would volunteers need to go to pick up said PPE ?
Good on ya'll for taking initiative. :thumbup

Yes. The cost to society, should either rider crash and need medical attention, is a huge strain on an already strained medical system.

If the fun rider goes out and doesn't crash, the benefit to society is one person got some shits and giggles. Selfish.

If the PPE rider delivers 100 masks without crashing, the benefit to society is 100 medical staff get much needed supplies and those 100 masks can have an exponential effect on stemming the spread of Covid 19, saving some lives in the process. Saintly.

I'm amazed by why it's even a question...

We are fulfilling the requests by makers to deliver the PPE on a case-by-case basis. Today, for instance, I picked up a truck load's worth of donated fabric and delivered it to the laser cutters who will cut 10,000 masks which will then be sewn by various sewists around the bay. Tomorrow we will be picking up masks that were 3D printed and taking them to Chinese Hospital in SF.

I kicked in a few bucks; I wish it was more but I'm donating to a lot of causes this quarter.
