Or to buy a brand new seat altogether...

Corbin can also do custom seats. You can make a ride in-ride out appt too. Probably a little more $$$ than a dude who takes cash for moto/scooter seats in the sunset though...

I had numerous Corbin customs over the years from street to tard to adventure and without a doubt, you can get the seat exactly as you need it. But if you are gonna do a ride in, you should really be set on what you are looking for. One seat I tuned to my ass so perfectly that when I slid out to a different position, it "pulled" me back in by virtue of feeling better only there. Over the years that made me craft a more neutral position seat.

Another thing we rarely consider is the slope of the seat and how it rolls the pelvis, or the "shelves" of support under the top the back thighs versus a narrow nose for easier standover.

Also note that when it comes to quality foam and real leather, things break in under wear/heat so the one you roll out with changes slightly with time in the saddle.

I've had my Corbin for 8 years now. Still has it's original shape. Not cheap, around 450 then. I'm 6'5", the seat is higher and the pegs lower than stock.

for a track bike, u should just get a superbike tail or seat pan and use more foam. a cushy stock seat is kinda crappy for providing feel/feedack and it won't crash well.

^ Not a lot of race seats for the s1000rr. BMW used to make a race seat, but they discontinued it. I have the opposite issue, need to shave the seat, cuz I'm vertically challenged.

a supertail plus a 1/4" pad is usually the lowest u can get for seat height. and a taller rider can go as high as they want with thick foam.

going too tall on the seat will have some drawbacks at the track. thats a lot of weight high up. so if I were tall, id be looking at lower pegs that are cut short to keep some ground clearance. and making sure you've got the right shock spring and preload to help w/ ground clearance as well.

excellent points on doing the whole new tail piece, etc, however i haven’t decided yet whether i will want to trade it in for 2020 s1000rr as it looks sexy or keep this model( love this one too) that’s why i rather trying to invest in rider training versus the bike modes. However, this last time at thunderhill(yes it rained saturday), someone let me try a taller seats, perhaps somewhere in 1.5-2.5 inches taller then stocker - day and night difference in body positing, the whole geometry of the body have changed, things just became right and a lot easier, knee pain was gone. So such a small change made a tramendous change for how comfortable and “right” i feel at the track... aspirin would work too, from pain perspective, however the taller seat also helped me to have better body position and made it easier getting off the bike per se.

The good thing about a Corbin seat is that you get to design every aspect of the seat and tweak it to your exact specifications.

The bad thing about a Corbin seat is that you get to design every aspect of the seat and tweak it to your exact specification. If you don't regularly design motorcycle seats chances are slim that you'll come up with a spot-on design after a couple 5-10 minute test-rides. At least that was my experience when I went to the Corbin factory and had a custom seat made. Between my design and the fact that the Corbin seat was heavy AF I went back to my stock seat in pretty short order...

very much valuable input, i have made an appointment with them to come in on april 6. i invision the new seat to be exact as stock seat only taller, so if they can’t make that, then it’s a real challenge..
