Cheap Enduro Computer

Lots of people use the Trail Tech Endurance computer because it is only $80. Not really a computer, more of a combination of odometer, clock, stop watch, lap timer, etc...

Looks like they have finally decided to make a "real" computer with an "Enduro mode" that shows if your are early, late or right within the minute. And it is only about $100. The Web site does not say when it will be available. I sent them an email...

Anyone wants to buy a slightly used Trail Tech Endurance "Computer"? :confused :teeth

Wow, great customer service! A couple hours after sending the email I already got an answer from Trail Tech about availability... I asked to be tester of a pre-production unit... ;) :teeth

We are doing final prototype testing now. Hope to be shipping production units in a month or so, but dates are still uncertain while we wait for final tooling to be done.

You will need a mount for it! ;) :thumbup

They have superior customer service. Kelly usually handles all the email. She is great.

Also, thanks for the link, I have just heard of Pro-Tect recently.

Kelly is great but the bad news is that it won't be a "real" enduro computer afterall... I don't think they should call it "enduro mode" lots of people will get confused... :-(

You will not be able to program the race in ahead of time, no.

The computer will have two timing features. One, a standard stop watch.
The other a Delta Timer that will keep track of the distance adjustments and
pace adjustments the rider makes during the event. There will two different
colored LEDs - one color will light to show the rider when they are ahead;
the other will light when rider is behind; if rider is within the 60 second
window, both LEDs will light. The Delta Timer will also show a numeric on
the screen.

Big numbers would be a benefit. On my TT Endurance I can barely see the time on the bottom. Usually have to pull over to read it.

How much do you want? I was thinking about picking one up. :thumbup
You can have the computer, mounting kit, sensor cable, manual, all in original box for $40.

Looks just like that:

OK... dumb question.... what would an Enduro unit have that these units do not...

and why not consider a cheap bicycle computer like the Sigma models?

That works too. You can also use a watch with big digits + odometer + roll chart. What the computer does? It computes! ;) You pre-enter all the speed changes and resets in the computer before the race. During the enduro, it shows you if you are late, early or in your minute. It also shows you where the possibles (spots where the club is allowed to put a checkpoint) are so you can haul ass when there is none and wait and rest just before the next possible. The ICO also parmanently adjusts the wheel size to match the club's. When you see a checkpoint, a glance at the computer and you know if you should go in or slow down. That's about it...

I'm looking for you SKAG!
I emailed Trail Tech last week and they told me the Lynx *should* ship by the end of May. I'm interested in it due to the constant back lit feature because I hope to get my XR400 street legalized and would like to see the speedo function at night.
