CBR Sidestand Question

The AFM requires the removal of any sidestand or centerstand. The bike I am planning on racing came with a safety switch on the sidestand. I terminated the extra wires with electrical tape. When I removed the kickstand I negated the switch near the plug as seen in this photo.

This also disabled the indicator light on the dash for which doesn’t matter.

Question: Is there any other thing I am missing or should this work out ok? :nerd

I am terrible at wiring! :mad

All you need to do are take the two green wires that run down to the sidestand switch and wrap them together and then tape them with electrical tape. You have to make sure that the 2P connector that goes to the sidestand switch is there though. Like if you were gonna plug the sidestand switch in, but then just cut the wire running out of the 2P connector to the sidestand switch. It might work the other way, but I always make sure to cut mine after the 2P plug. (I.E. down from where the 2P connector attaches to the main wiring harness, cut the extra wire thats not part of the main only)

P.S. When I raced I only removed the sidestand switch and wiring down where it connects to the sidestand, though my bike is a little different than yours.

There were three wires coming out of the connector. I think one went to ground when the stand was up so I terminated it at the negative side of the battery. The other two wires I believe went to the indicator light in the cockpit. These I just cut and taped. I hope they don't activate or deactivate something else.

I guess that is what I am wondering. If the wires that powered the indicator, power anything else. Also I was curious if the cut and taped wires would hold up. :ride
