Cat surprise in my drier

Have not done laundry since last week so I had a few loads to get done today. Pulled the first load out of the wash and promptly tossed it into the drier. Turned the knob to 10 and hit start. Decided to go out and monkey around in the garage for bit, then came back to the good ole computer to get my Barf on.

Hearing the buzzer I get retrieve some hangers from my closet and go to pull my fresh clean clothes. Upon opening the door I am greeted by a horrible sight and a worse smell. Cat poop (I know some of you freaks thought I dried my cat) yes cat poop. :green

After I threw up a little in my mouth I plugged my nose and went to survey the damages. You know how heating up brandy brings out all those new aromas, yea well it works with cat shit too.

I donned some latex gloves and pulled all my dress clothes out into a bin. Thankfully my worst nightmares were not realized there was not cat fecal matter smeared over every piece of nice clothing I owned. Yet when I went to grab one of the last shirts a tootsie roll fell out. So no poop smears but all my clothing smelled as if it was dried with poop scented fabric softener.

A throe cleaning of the drier commenced and the clothes went back for a few more cycles in the wash.

I have no idea why one of my cat's (I'm pretty sure which one it was since she is the only cat that goes up stairs) decided the drier would be a good place to hang out. Let alone use as a restroom. My cats are 6 and 11 and they have been litter box trained since day 1. This is the first time I have ever found there business outside of the box.

Guess I am going to keep the drier door closed from here on out.

Excuse me wail I go dry my next load hoping it dose not come out smelling like shit.

While that IS terrible, who doesn't keep their dryer door closed when not using it? It just gets in my way otherwise. :laughing

Be thankful it wasn't in the washing machine. Some friends of mine hosted a party and some clown thought it would be a good idea to drop a huge deuce in the washer, and then START the fucker running. :laughing They opened it up later in the night and found the inside (with no clothes in it at least) covered in watery poop. :barf :rofl It was gross but also so goddamn funny (mainly I think because it wasn't my washer!).

I was REALLY nervous/upset, when I read the title.

I too, was expecting a tale of a 'cooked cat'.

I was scared when reading the title, but thankfully the CAT wasn't in the drier.

It has been a worry of mine that one of our cats who loves being in boxes/bags/etc. might end up jumping in the drier for the short period of time that we open its door to put clothes in.

I always triple check the damn thing before I hit start! :laughing

We had a kitten who met his demise in our dryer. Both my wife and I had seen him do it once or twice while loading/unloading. Unfortunately our housekeeper didn't :(

The vet told us it is more common than you might think, so be careful.

We had an older dryer so we just replaced it.
