Not as fast as I look.
I don't think they spend shiiiet on gear. It's all sponsor paid. YOU, me, and the other x number of Haga wanta-bes, pay the price. Lucky for me, I never wanted to ride like Haga. :thumbup

Raider

yeap...
I'm not sure if it's Shoei and Arai which make all their helmets exactly the same... so the helmet that goes to GP guys can be pulled from the same line that the helmets that go to Cycle Gear are... standard quality across the board...

arai has been selling CF helmets outside of the US for years. I remember I first saw the CF Corsair helmets at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2007...

I would much rather ride like Haga than ride like you.

The F1 guys get custom fitted helmets, I would think the moto guys would get the same treatment.

The Pedrosa replica looks awesome.

Wow, 4 grand?! That must REALLY keep your head safe! :rolleyes

probably not, it's just a gimmick to extract money from people with more disposable income than common sense

in the well known Motorcyclist study a few years back the top performing helmets all used a softer more flexible shell material that absorbed shock rather than transmitting it to your brain

I know, it was a dig at the people who like to say that only expensive helmets are good helmets.

I had no idea. But that's how out of the m/c scene I've been.

Looks like you can get a regular CF Corsair for $4K. Still way too rich for my blood.

The Haga Rep is only $300 more so might as well get a replica since you are dropping that kind of money. The Pedrosa rep posted by SuperMike looks pretty cool too.

Actually that's why it's so expensive. If you look at the CF weave, the strands are much wider than what you'd see typically. I guess they found that this weave kept that right balance of flex and rigidity needed.
