Anyone know if the primitive camp sites on South Coast Ridge Rd have fire rings?

The ones up on Prewitt ridge do not, but I'm not sure about anywhere else up there. Is this the same area?

Some do ... this is a large site on the left of the road to
Prewitt Ridge (heading downhill), very close to Coast Ridge ...
it's so close to Coast Ridge that this campsite probably isn't
on Prewitt Ridge itself ...

I was there during the week in late January, and was surprised at how many
of the campsites on Coast Ridge and Prewett Ridge
that were already occupied ...

see you around the campfire, :party

The trip went well. My buddy and i camped at what is locally known as "2 Joint Point". Indeed, there were no campfires allowed. Additionally, there were signs posted to remind you to have your permit for operating a camp stove. Didn't know you needed one of those.

Good thing you got a buddy to help you pick it up after its taking a nap. :p

Man I'd love to take a Tenere out on some forest roads, how'd it do? I've only ridden one on the street.

I just got into dirt biking about a year or so ago, so confidence in dirt is low to begin with for me. That said, it handled great. I think I got it up to 35 mph on La Gloria Road at one point and it felt extremely stable. First gear is very usable which makes the bike quite tractable for a dirt newb. I dropped the bike when I put my foot down and the pitch of the road took a hold of the bike's weight. It does weigh a lot. For the most part I kept it in first and pretended it was a tank.

The Super Tenere does not have an ABS-Off switch. There is a way to trick the ABS into faulting off, or you can make a switch for it. I did neither and had no problems. It's a great bike.
