Surprised to see Alex on the tube.

Asking for 200k for 10%....Will they get it?

Nope but they got 200k for 20%.
Mark and Robert are in. Alex and his partner are on their way.

Funny... I can remember sitting in Fred’s with Alex two years ago and suggesting Shark Tank.

Congrats boys! :port

I remember when Budman first posted about this. If I was a commuter I’d definitely have one.

Their current website is very professional.

Seems like 200K is an insignificant buy-in, though, for 20%.

That values the business at 1m...

Also it brings on the sharks who know how to run businesses

Hey, WTF do I know.. Slack just sold for $2.7 billion. Crazy abounds.

And it’s just a helmet doohickey. Gotta move a lot of units or sell the design to SHOEI or someone for the big return. That’d be a nice thing as a standard built in.

If you told me 25 years ago "someone will make an IRC replica in a shitty slow desktop client instead of telnet/ssh and make billions selling it as a service" I would have laughed at you and said "why would they do that when they can just use IRC for free?"

Significantly more wizened me just shrugs and goes back to squinting at other shit to see if it could be how you Uber the thing.

Actually, what they need is distribution networks.
Think, Cycle Gear.

Awesome story.

Did you get a thank you card? :laughing

Thank you's over time yes.. including one last night when I texted him.
One day we will sit at Fred's again. :teeth

To be successful in an existing market the product must be 10 times better than the incumbent.

Or better marketing.. better manufacturing cost... or a bunch of other things.

Not just the product. There are a bunch of factors.

Being 10 times better just is not realistic in so many markets.
As good as and smart applies to many manufactured items.

Great product. Cool Xmas gift for a moto rider in your family.

Unfortunately, it's just a matter of time before online vendors starts selling knock offs for $25. The technology behind it isnt too complex

Impossible to compete with rip-offs and make any profit. I hope the sharks can find a way to help them reduce the cost rapidly and stay competitive.
