Best Wheel shop in the Bay?

Replacing some seriously rashed (curbed by previous owner, badly) wheels with a set of takeoffs that have zero miles on them; I'd rather not scratch them up with a tire iron when mounting the tires. Any recommendations for wheel shops in the area that take their time and deliver quality work?

edit: It would help to include the fact that this is for an auto, not a moto.

California Wheels is where all the ballers fit up the 26's on their Escalades and Range Rovers.

Seriously though. They handle some the very hardest tire mount and balance jobs there is. Custom hand painted large diameter wheels are as fragile as it gets. And they do a lot of them. So there are definitely some skilled tire jockeys there.

What size/how special are the wheels and where in the bay area are you?

19.5x8.5 and 19.9; not 'special' I'd say (OEM takeoffs form a 2013 - brand new), but I guess that's relative; I'd just prefer they stay unscratched - Napa. :thumbup

Ok, 19s aren't terribly difficult to manage. Any "good" tire shop should have a machine to handle those. Napa, north bay sorry, don't know anyone up there.

Rob'll tell ya that the bigger chain shops will have the latest equipment but the machine is only as good as the operator.

There is something to be said for equipment. The machine I have at my shop? If it was anything over 20" or anything that's reverse mount...I wouldn't even trust myself to do the job without the possibility of damage. A true piece of shit ancient Coats rig that I still can't believe is in a dealership shop.

The machine I had when I managed Wheel Works? Wasn't the very best state of the art, but it was decent enough that I knew I could do up to 26" reverse mounts without a scratch if I took my time.
