Best moto photo locations?

R3DS!X

Whatever that means
Looking to take some moto photos soon what are your favorite spots?

Good scenery, lighting, locations, good posing corners?

I have this one spot on 35 closeish to 92 that when its early hours you get lots of god rays and the lighting is really neat looking with the redwoods in the back ground.

Point Reyes Cypress tree tunnel never looks bad.

Some of the graffiti alley ways in SF make for some nice Urban backgrounds

Fort point has some shots you can get with the bridge in the back ground.

Both treasure island and Alameda have some good views with SF in the background but i have trouble getting a shot highlighting both the subject and the background. DOF issues. Maybe i could try a composite picture.

The section of 84 before apple jacks has some good sweepers and across from it is a generous pull out are so you can get action shots form either side.

It really depends on the mood you're looking to create... for example I always take a "morning of" photo of my DBC bikes in the middle of Revere Street in Hunters Point. I also have a few favorite spots around Livermore.

A few tips that help me... I try for early morning or late afternoon lighting. Mid-day can be okay if its overcast, otherwise too bright and details get lost in the high contrast. Sometimes I'll bring buckets of water and a broom to make the ground wet. Also bring a ladder. You can get some nice unexpected shots from an overhead perspective. Then also try low angles with your camera literally on the ground. And lastly, have a plan if a train should come unexpectedly in the middle of your photo shoot!

I would also checkout the "photos of your bike on location" thread for lots of other great locations.

Be sure to share what you come up with:thumbup

The ideal photo spot for an entire motorcycle is pretty subjective but if you want some inspiring ideas for a shot of a mirror and bar-end weight I'd PM JohnDicezx9. :teeth

I like to take photos of my bikes at the top of mountain peaks. That's easier for me to do than for most of you. :teeth

Look through this thread for ideas of what you like. Most photos have text explaining where the photo was taken. It's a lot easier to figure out what looks good by looking at photos than by us trying to explain it.

find the instagram, start geo-searching locations, see what motorcycles pop up. Copy the ones you like.
