BARF Vintage Cafe Meet-up, 4/27, DGR & MotoGP!

Hey Vintage Cafe,

Ace Cafe Rob has been showing MotoGP at the San Francisco Motorcycle Club
this season, and a few of my vintage bike buddies have been using it as
an excuse to start their vintage bikes, warm up the engine, and enjoy
motorcycle fellowship and MotoGP racing ... :ride

The next race is the Argentine MotoGP event, on Sunday,
4/27, doors at the SFMC open at 4pm with Moto3, Moto2 at 5pm
and MotoGP at 6pm ... at 18th Street and Folsom Street.

And a pic of the venue, our clubhouse purchased in 1947 ...
the SFMC was established in 1904, and is one of the oldest
motorcycle clubs in the universe, celebrating our
110th anniversary this year ...

Ride a pre-1986 bike on 4/27, and I'll buy you a beverage of your choice ... :thumbup
Heck, show up on a cool cafe bike, or tell me it is your first visit to the SFMC
and I'll buy you a beverage of your choice ... :laughing

The clubhouse is fun if you are into motorcycle history, we
have a couple of old vintage bikes and a ton of old photos on display ...

Anyway, show-up-or-don't, BARF Vintage Cafe style ... :party

looks like a fun day and thanks for opening the house, alas, I will be out of town. One day I will get on a vintage ride again.

Hey, no problem ... sounds like we have another couple of chances for
Vintage Cafe meet-ups or socials in May:

Mods vs Rockers and the Scooter Girls 10th Anniversary Party on
Saturday May 10th,

and the Sheetiron/Streetiron on May 16th - 18th ...

I'm having a vision of a hard-core subculture of Sheetiron vintage dual-sports in years to come ... Still thinking of riding my '73 Tiger to Stonyford on May 16th ... just really enjoy the idea of combining my love for dual-sport and vintage rides! :ride

This sounds like an awesome event, and it would be my first vintage gathering to join. Of course I am out of town on Sunday :cry...so I hope to meet up with vintage barfers sometime soon. Cheers, Matt

Darn. I can't make it either. Sounds great. I've been to the clubhouse once loved looking at all of the photos. Lots of great moto history there. Hope to make one of the vintage gatherings.

Saturday, May 10th is a big BARF Vintage Cafe meet up/social opportunity ... Show up at Pier 23 at 1pm for MvR (epic!) and then the Scooter Girls 10th Anniversary Party at the SFMC after that ... :thumbup

Gotta make it down for one of your events.
Can you post up a schedule for the entire year?

I'm talking with some friends about an airheads tour down that way some time in July.
We'll probably spend one night in Bolinas, then head down towards SF and the Peninsula.
If there's an SFMC event in July, we'd try to time it so we could attend that.

Will you be at the Bolinas July 4th Parade? :ride

As you can see our two "club rides" are later in July ... Davenport can be a fun
ride, and it would be convenient for BARF Vintage Cafe-ers who live in the South Bay ... not sure what the other event is about ...

We also have meetings at the clubhouse every Thursday night, so that's always an easy meet-up (for me, anyway, ha! :party) ...

Our MotoGP events are on there, too, which are generally at 4pm on Sundays ... always fun, too ... and the German Grand Prix is July 13th, the same day as the Davenport Lunch ride ...

So, not sure if 7/13 works for you guys but it is an example of a day that I think works well for Internet-style "meet-ups" ... involves some riding, is free, does not require reservations, can be joined at the last minute, and has several meet-up points throughout the day ...

For my own part, I would love to sit around the campfire with you air-head guys
one night in July, while you are here ... just try to meet at a campsite somewhere ...? :thumbup
