Lurks for the lulz
Don't get me wrong...I think bewbs are great but I don't login to Barf every day for a quick titty fix.
I turned avatars off many months ago because users of this site don't seem to adhere to the plainly stated TOS re: nudity, semi-nudity and NSFW images on Barf. I have a hard time understanding why these rules are so lax when other TOS are so rigorously enforced.
I don't go into certain former "moto photo" threads for this reason and I rarely venture into the KS pics/vids section because it is overrun with these types of images and other vapid behavior. Not that there's anything wrong with it... :laughing
Apparently female nudity and related misogynistic shit-talk pops up anywhere no matter the thread title or my safeguard attempts to block these images out of the cache @ home and work computers (example 1, example 2, example 3, 4). I'm not even including threads from the regular KS but you know it exists there more than anywhere, right? Not everyone works in a liberal work environment where this stuff is ok to flaunt.
This is a plea to the management/mods that Barf be little more female-friendly and the TOS regarding nudity is enforced. I realize this is both an unpopular and unrealistic request for a motorcycle forum. In turn please consider these are the reasons why women riders contribute to Barf in fewer numbers than other, less moderated, resources.
If that is not enough to curb Barf's porn addiction, then consider how long until nanny software programs blacklist Barf for high pornography/profanity content. Young readers should be able to benefit from this forum as much as anyone else.
There are those who will label me as a hater, a whiner, whatever, and they can re-read the first sentence in my post. My point is that Barf did not start out as a porn site, it should not be allowed to devolve into one, and the arguably adult images perpetuated on this forum un-checked will not make more female riders come here.
There are plenty of safe, pro-testosterone places for this content to breed freely on the internet. Barf should not become such a place in my opinion.
Thanks for listening. I see that moderation of avatars has gotten better over the last few months and I thank you for that effort. (but I'm still keeping my avatars turned-off!)
