BARF has spoken. Our definition of "vintage" is in.

By one vote, the decision is that motorcycles made before 1985 are vintage for purposes of Vintage Cafe.

I'm going to get to work on a document to list forum guidelines. If anyone has any suggestions now is the time to suggest them.

Thanks everyone for your help in getting this started!

So do we revisit this in 5~10 years? Or is a 1986 bike still not 'vintage' in the year 2525? :laughing

Hey Carlo,

One vote ... not much of a consensus ...

Hope you don't spend too much effort on forum guidelines, at least as far as what we think "vintage" means ... neither of the other two forums I frequent (old's cool and BAVR) make any attempt to define vintage as far as I can see from a quick scan ...

In the end, people that post pics are going to post, and
people that don't won't, and there we'll be ... :laughing

see you in Bolinas,

I'm calling them guidelines rather than rules.
This should be flexible, and will probably be revisited periodically.

And I haven't even started on them yet!

Well, I can't argue with democracy. It makes not a logical bit of sense to me that the year isn't rolling, but oh well. It will be many a decade before my '12 R1 makes it onto the new vintage section.

In the meantime, I'll enjoy looking at the cool old bikes others post up.
