Bahía de los Ángeles, 2017 ...

John -

So glad you and Kalle joined the trip this year.

Hey Fearless Leader! :thumbup

I've been watching the BARF Baja crew, and
can't say how glad I was that everything came
together so we could attend ... all credit to
Kalle and the mighty Tacoma ... :cool

... he even got me to loosen up and get up
out of bed and on the road later
the last day and ride with other people ...
another highlight for me ... :party

... I'll put Aqua Verde and San Isidro on
my list for the future ... HO's pics of the
road to San Isidro are also super enticing ...

... was blown away with how beautiful and rugged
the area was from Loreto to San Juanico ...
was kicking myself for not making more of
an effort in years gone by to visit the area ... :nchantr

... we played is safe on the KLRs and took the
pavement to Scorpion Bay ... maybe next year ...
although your team's exploits on the beach this year and
some of the stories I heard about lost bikes and
close calls beach riding failed to built up my
beach riding confidence ... :laughing

... thanks for reading and posting ...
I'm thinking about my Baja plans for
next season, too ... :ride

Also you seem to capture stuff I haven't seen
even though I've ridden through the same places. So awesome! :thumbup

Hi Daniel! :wave

... I claim Baja-n00bie-status based on
my experience being stale, but confess to being
a bit of a ringer ... believe me, I spent
years charging past most of the places
we were able to make the time to
stop and check out on this trip ... :laughing

Thanks to the BARF Baja crew my Baja experience
is now 100% less stale, and I learned a bunch
for my next Baja trip ... :thumbup

Useful idiot
The lesson this thread has taught me is that I need to spend less time ripping around and more time going slow, stopping, and taking pics. I did a bit of exploring this trip, at least. I need to do more in the future.

... more steekers:

... more KLR karnage ... :laughing

20170208-073234.jpg

... never had done the Low Road, so we
got an early start and I, anyway, was
prepared for the bit of a maze that is the
Low Road ... we both managed to scare
ourselves skinny on some of the slick
spots, but I was the one that got the pic ... :party

Still laughing at the "Caution: Heavy" sticker on the KLR. :laughing

:laughing:thumbup

... I think OaklandF4i was
disappointed he didn't have
more "Caution Heavy" kanidates
to kall out in 2017 ... :afm199

... Kalle removed his sticker to some
other place of honor but I'll
kontinue to rock my
"Caution Heavy"
sticker on the KLR's
front fender ... :rofl

... love Norcalslowpoke's
2017 BAJA Barf sticker, too ... :ride

... my one pic of Eric B., who I want to be when I grow up ...

... always the first to volunteer to help, always prepared,
experienced, competent, cheerful ... brought
the right bike, and had the right tools when we needed
them and knew how to use them
(all unlike me ...
I've got some growing up to do, ha) ... :thumbup

... super glad I got to watch him in action getting
us back on the road with a front flat and that I got
to be swept by him on our last day ...
and Horsepower Ranch? ... total win! :ride
