Have them do the standard DOJ background check

They go to a background check provider and pay for it and the provider sends you a report.

whatever you do, do NOT use Checkr. They held up the start date of my current job by almost 2 months until I escalated it up to the leadership of HR who escalated it to their management. They kept blaming santa clara county for being slow, when they were just fucking idiots.

Companies absolutely do it. They should not be asking for the pw but most companies will do open source social media checks on potential employees.


This also goes for criminal investigations.
