Background check Turnaround time (Santa Clara County)

Whats your guys experience as far as turnaround time for a background check to clear for those who have primarily lived in Santa Clara County? I'm almost at two weeks on this job offer, through Checkr. It seems like records for Santa Clara county specifically are slow to process and turn around time can be wild.

Curious your experience in turnaround times on BG checks. Standard BG check, not for a federal / healthcare/ etc position that would need anything more than the basics.

My experience with running hundreds of background checks was dependent upon the company I'd outsourced it to. Most were easy and came back within about 2 to 5 business days. Others took up to two weeks, but that was somewhat rare. I had one that took over a month. The candidate had a common surname that popped up with some red flags in Southern California, where the candidate had lived for some time. The vendor had to get a person to go there to review the records in person and verify if it was or wasn't my candidate. That was a touch and go situation. It wasn't easy keeping the candidate interested given the lengthy delay, but through a lot of frequent communication I was able to save the hire.
