If your older xr/xl 600 suddenly dies on you while out on a ride, grab a stick from the side of the road and give the CDI unit a couple good smacks. It will probably get you home. It's located on the throttle side of the frame under the tank. You can get the stick up in there from down by the headers.

I didn't order anything from CMSNL, but looking at the detailed schematics helped me figure out which pieces from my steering damper were missing.

Good to know about David Silver Spares. Looks like they're much easier to order from than Ohio Cycle.

Everyone over on the ZRXOA website, buys from this guy. Great Fiche, great prices, quick delivery. What else could you want? :

Changing grips? Get a sharp utility knife, & just cut the old ones off. You can have the old ones off in 30 seconds...

Lube your cables once a year, check exhaust flange bolts (as mentioned) if you hear them, or I check them once a year anyway.

Lay down on the garage floor right next to your bike, & stare at it for 15 minutes. Helps to see problems/fluid leaks, & where you need to shine it up.
