anyone remember the “power tools drag races”?

Power Tool drag races

this thread kinda reminded me of going to them

“Cordless Power Tool Battle Royal“

belt sanders, circular saws, etc. running head to head down plywood racetracks

corded tools dragged long extension cords behind them

pretty well attended both as participants and spectators, good times, but they seemed to have faded away

any one else go to these events?

these seemed to be associated with car shows, like the hotrod ones with fat guys drinking beer from their motorized lawn chairs /hot august nights. not the fancy champagne and cheese ones.
