How easy would it be to get this plated in California?:thumbup

More than that. Some of those bikes were never legal anywhere in the USA. I think it's pretty close to impossible to get a bike like that registered in California these days.

Transfering it is not hard at all.
Just bring the paperwork to the dmv and transfer it, had no problem with one of my bikes.
I hear starting new paper work for bikes like that are impossible.

yeah. I would spend the money on a trip to japan or tailand, rent the thing, have a nice vacation, and realize by the time I'm done riding it that I don't want to own it.

This. The oldest vehicles were a couple of early 70's Lancias (yeah, I know, not bikes). Not even Japanese.
