Took my bike out of about 8 months of storage, got to ride it about 10 miles, parked it at our condo in Sacramento then this happened.

Stolen this morning between 7am and 9am from our condo off in Sacramento. Waiting for CHP to call me back to get an over the phone report.

Ignition was drilled, and steering lock busted, they pushed it to the front of the complex and started it off there.

Waiting on HOA for video if they have any.

One yellow headlight and magenta (purple) brake LED and shorty Yoshimura pipe. Otherwise it's pristine and 100% stock.

Sad to hear another bike getting stolen. How did you know that ignition was drilled and the bike being pushed? Did you get the bike back already or did you see it happening?

Has bike theft really been this hot or is it the absence of Civics and 240sx's led to this?i I think since the whole dirt bike and stunting scene got too popular, everyone's trying to get in it.

There are shavings and ignition parts where the bike was parked.

Neighbor at the front of the complex (talked to him because he was gearing up for a ride) heard the bike start near his place but because I actually live in the bay area and store the bike at my brothers garage he didn't recognize the bike or the rider (or in this case the thief). My bike isn't exactly quiet, and was parked 50ft from our bedroom window, and this is the first time the bike has been at this complex. I only brought it this morning because I was going to go for a long ride.

Filed a report with the CHP, it's now a waiting game.

(Only liability and UM so I'm out of luck as far as compensation)

Goddamn. I have a '00. I was pretty sure we'd be the last ones to have to worry about moto theft. 5th gen VFRs aren't exactly sought after... Now I know.

My thoughts exactly. Though this example was phenomenal. It just had a tear in the seat, and small scratches into the plastic on the top of the tail section. I spent about 40+ hours disassembling and detailing the bike from top to bottom as soon as I bought it. I got rid of all the swirls, most scratches, the whole nine yards. They actually passed an sv650, another naked bike, a couple of smaller displacement bikes, and a few Harleys...because of the tools, I'm guessing they weren't just looking for a joyride, but that this bike will be sold for parts. They knew what they wanted...oh well.

Sorry to hear this happened.

Post up photos and lic. plate number if you got 'em.

17 year old moto is likely stolen by a joyriding thief. Good chance you will get it back, but worse for wear and tear.

Splat that looks strangely familiar to my old VFR. Did the yosh pipe come with the bike and did the scratch on the tail go from
Left side to right side of the bike in black?
