News Release from Oregon State Police
Posted on FlashAlert: October 27th, 2015 4:12 PM

On October 26, 2015 at about 1PM, OSP was notified by the California Highway Patrol that they were in pursuit of a motorcyclist, northbound on Interstate 5 towards Oregon. At approximately 1:15PM, the motorcycle entered Oregon at a high rate of speed.

An OSP Trooper attempted to pull over the motorcyclist but he failed to yield, continuing northbound on Interstate 5 at a high rate of speed. At milepost 3 on I-5, the rider drove through the median and drove the wrong way on I-5, northbound in the southbound lanes. Troopers lost sight of the motorcycle near the Siskiyou Summit.

At 3:30 PM, Troopers located the motorcyclist traveling northbound on I-5 near milepost 16. The rider began to drive recklessly and travel at speed of over 100mph. OSP terminated the pursuit when it exited the interstate and entered the city of Medford.

A short time later, the rider was located at a Shell gas station in Central Point stealing gasoline from a pump that had been fueling a motorhome. The rider was identified as Nicholas J ABEL, age 24, of San Jose, CA, was arrested. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail for multiple counts of Felony Attempt to Elude and Reckless Driving. Charges will be pending in California.

Did he have a spiked helmet, jeans , a white tee and icon armor on top of the shirt??:laughing

Icon gets a bad rep but my jacket has held up over 3 crashes all on the left side. (Maybe I should work on my left turns lol) anyways jacket has a scuff on the arm but it's still going strong no rips or tears.

As for the rider his balls are clearer bigger than his brain

Doesn't Icon place their secret St. Christopher medallion in the... left inside pocket?

+3 :laughing

How is it "multiple count" of Felony attempts to elude and evade ?

Does he get another strike everytime they lose him ?

I'm guessing the pursuits (one by Oregon cops and one by California cops) are treated as different events maybe? Or maybe each time a different car picks up the chase and attempts the stop, it's another offense.

I like the phrase Lodged instead of incarcerated. Sounds much nicer. :twofinger

http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Incarceration

Incarceration

Confinement in a jail or prison; imprisonment.

Police officers and other law enforcement officers are authorized by federal, state, and local lawmakers to arrest and confine persons suspected of crimes. The judicial system is authorized to confine persons convicted of crimes. This confinement, whether before or after a criminal conviction, is called incarceration. Juveniles and adults alike are subject to incarceration.

Lodged in a holding cell until arraigned & tried. He's gonna get REAL familiar with the Oregon justice system. :party
