Home of Vortex tuning
Currently staying at the intersection of 395 & Hwy 50 WB to Spooner Lake & Tahoe.
The variety of performance exhausts is something to hear.
From Jap tuner cars sporting big turbo's popping at the shift, V8's, bike clubs with V twins to I4's (some of these running lean)and a few 2 stroke twins.
All sorts of ICE noise.
Pulling the grades (WB 50 and SB 395)they don't skimp on the pedal.

I forget the exact stat but it’s something like “the average California driver breaks the vehicle code once every 3/4 mile” or maybe it was every 3 miles. Either way you can pull anyone over if you just wait long enough.

Back in college I had a couple professors (retired officers themselves) say something to the effect of, "The vehicle code is nothing more than a thousand pages of probable cause."

As someone who lives near a busy street, I really like excessive noise laws and wish they were enforced more. I shouldn't be able to hear a car or bike from half a mile away.

Nowhere did I say that any of the exhausts were loud. No tickets for noise were issued. Cop was saying he could pull the dude over for blipping the throttle. That's just stupid. I don't like loud pipes either. I bought my bike with a Full Yosh system on it. It's not too bad but I'm very conscious of keeping the revs down when I leave our complex or riding through residential areas. Ill be dammed if ill go out and look for a stock system and spend money to add 50 lbs to my bike. If a ticket is EARNED I have no problem with it. Issuing tickets over a difference of opinion, not so much.

You said yourself that you don’t go out seeking attention with your exhaust system. You keep revs down in your complex and in residential neighborhoods, presumably because you don’t want to bother people or draw attention.

This other rider sounds he was looking for the attention you actively avoid by blipping the throttle when passing a cop.

If someone is actively seeking attention from cops, then I’d call that an “earned” ticket.

I think one could argue that the vast majority of tickets a rider receives are due to a "difference of opinion", no? :laughing

Mr. Bad Example
Why anyone would replace a perfectly good stock system on a for-street moto is beyond me. Why? Attention? To irritate? For HP that you're never going to use?

I have no sympathy for those who make themselves cop bait.
