AFM Novice advancement rule question

2.2.2(b)Requirement for mandatory advancement to Expert in the next season: If you are a first place finisher (aka Novice Class Champion) in any class except Clubman, endurance and exhibition races.

I understand making a Novice advance to Expert if they win a Class Championship but what is the thought behind making Clubman exempt?

So Racer X races Clubman and some other small Novice class with 2 other racers. He doesn't do well in Clubman but beats the 2 other racers in the small class. He wins the championship and is required to advance to Expert.

Meanwhile Racer Y only races Clubman and beats out 80+ other racers, including Racer X, wins the Clubman championship and isn't required to advance to Expert.

Why is that?

Getting Older and Faster
On the flip side, that rule sucks for Leon (afm 910).
He entered three races last year in 650 Prod N and won the championship because of lack of participation. He a good guy and now is forced to swim with the sharks.

Personally I'm bummed that Leon has to advance also. I got to battle a little with him in the last round and next year he'll get to start ahead of me all year :laughing

Why would you want to stay a novice. Its like winning events at the Special Olympics. Yeah you win but your still retarded.

Why is it every time you post here something dumb comes out? Why would you call novices racers retarded or people who chose to stay a novice retarded? They are the future of this club....

Why would you ever want stay Novice and never advance your skills. You don't learn shit by racing with people slower than you. It is retarded, plan and simple. Racing is about doing the best you can. FYI the first post was about a class champion trying to stay Novice. Instead of jumping on me learn to read the OP thread, rinse and repeat. :twofinger
