Adventure Bike Owners - Group Ride

Hello Adv Bike fellow-owners,

i recently became an owner of GSA 1250, and it’s quite different from anything and everything i’ve owned before. I thought of gauging an interest to get together for a ride to share an experience and riding techniques of these beautiful beasts.

Day and paths can be figured out as this thread progresses, but it would be a half to a full day long trip, not an adventure per se.

Thoughts ?

Dirt or just shitty/bumpy/goaty roads? I find terrible pavement conditions like those found on Salinas Road, Pinoche Road and New Idria Road to be hilarious fun on my big KTM.

I too just bought a BMW, an F800GS. I’m very familiar with the roads around the Santa Cruz Mtns and could lead/co-lead the ride if needed.

How about walnut creek to oak flat (camp) via siverado trail and M 1 (10?); then Ft Bragg; do not know a campground near (south) of Ft Brag; then home via 1, 2 camp nites; easy bag it head home after Penny, mid week works for me. some dirt to Penny and Ft Bragg. 6 hours seat time ok, slow rider less than 10 mph over speed limit
