hello compadres, so i have a 2001 cbr 929rr and last week i started noticing the the clutch was slipping so i got a new kit, installed it and it works great but when i hit high rpm (5-6k) rhe clutch starts slipping as well....the bike has 25k miles, power commander 3, maybe it could be the pc3 not sending enough fuel on time?
as soon as i hit the throttle hard, the bike accelerates but it takes 2 seconds to actually go, the needle goes up and then comes down, any help is greatly appreciated. thanks.

What kind of oil are you using? Clutch plates installed in the correct sequence?

thanks for your response. im using full synthetic (2 months old) and i did install the plates correctly (as per manual).
i had the same problem with the stock clutch, it was working fine til last week.
tnx

What I’m getting at is: is the oil rated for wet clutches? You need to be able to see JASO MA or JASO MA-2 on the bottle. Otherwise, what are your clutch springs looking like?

i dont remember the specs of the oil, but when i did the tune up, it was working fine.
i got the kit complete with the friction, plates and springs, everything new, Barnett clutch kit.

ive done some research and theres a lot of post about the oil, but it seems weird since the oem clutch was working fine after the oil change.

since i installed the power commander on this bike, it has been acting weird, the idle is very erratic, but other than that the bike works just fine.

Power commander has nothing to do with the clutch slipping. Most bikes have an additional adjustment besides the lever. Sometimes two, at the clutch cable entry to the engine, and internally behind the clutch cover. Get a manual.

Consider removing the power commander, get back to a stable baseline.

If having the power commander is super important consider having a qualified tech do the power commander install with followup that it's working properly.

+1 there's usually 2 or 3 adjustment points: lever, right outside of the case or on a bracket under the bike and then sometimes behind the clutch cover.

Sometimes slipping a small washer in the outside bracket (see above) can help, but means your clutch cable is stretched.
