8/22/18: Coworker's uncle, down - 101 San Jose

A coworker advised me that his 58yo uncle went down on 101 in San Jose today, late morning. Rides a metric twin cruiser of some sort but that's all he knows re: the bike. Reports of 6 cars involved; sounds hairy.

His uncle is recovering but has broken ribs and leg(s) as of this afternoon. Poor guy woke up in the ER without knowing how or why he was there.

I have no details other than what's been posted but y'all be safe out there; it's been a real sh!tshow as of late.

Heal quickly, brother.

Thanks to all for the concern and well-wishes.

Rider is still recovering and has months of pt ahead. Mentally he still has no recollection of the accident. Per witnesses, there was an accident just ahead of him and he made impact.

Was only wearing a squid lid because "cooler" on his metric cruiser vs full face and will have some scarring as a result of lesser protection.

I doubt that full atgatt would've prevented the broken bones but a better helmet may have mitigated facial lacerations and possibly the subsequent concussion etc.
