Hey Brad,

Sorry about that last corner, I wasn't ready for you to hit the brakes so early and I shouldn't have been right behind you. You were playing good defense, my fault for thinking I could "out-defend you" into 11. I don't think you went down from when I hit your rear, I really hope you stayed on and was able to finish.

So that's what happened. I didn't see a pile of B-rad's bike anywhere so he must have stayed up, even after a Swedish enema

Yeah sadly enough after your talk about people's riding earlier in the day I have to own up to my own screw-up. I had speed on a lot of people into the corners but instead of being patient and setting up a pass for the exit I used the brakes and an inside line to take the apex. It worked well enough throughout the day that I tried it one more time, but since I knew Brad would be coming in tight and slow to block me I should've stayed wide instead.

I just reviewed the video and although I can't tell what Brad's normal brake marker is it looks like I hit mine about the same the last couple laps, but with him coming in tight on me I needed to either brake earlier or move outside. I guess that's what you get when you haven't raced in 2 years and get into a good scrap, just glad Brad's ok.

Amazingly my bike ground down the frame slider, handlebar, and footpeg, everything else is untouched (well except the bodywork that ripped in half). My leathers have these hard plastic pieces on the shoulders and they ground down to nothing, I must've been sliding forever.

You left some long marks my friend. :laughing

Glad you are ok! I saw the bike and was like "aw man his wife is going to kill him!" :teeth

Good paint is the root of all evil...ask me how I know. :laughing

Serious, every time I go down after making the bike look pretty I ask myself why I bother? The tank's undamaged though and the tail is good, so I think a new upper and a home spray job in yellow is all she needs.

My wife was still very supportive when I got home although that might change if my hunch is right and I broke my finger (xrays will soon confirm), but I need to do a serious rethink of this as far as the kids are concerned. It was hard doing my normal morning routine with them to get them ready for the day, I can hardly walk my butt and back is so sore and swollen, and I can't do much with the right hand either. If she has to carry a bigger load for a month cause I have a busted finger she really will kill me!

Let's hope you didn't do too much damage then.:thumbup I don't want to read about you in the paper. :laughing

Watching this I don't feel so bad actually. I wasn't following Brad, he swept out to the far left looking like he was going to setup for a normal entry into 11 and I was more mid-track trying to go for a blocking pass. Then he moves in towards the middle to try and block me and ends up right in front of me as I'm about to start braking. This looks to me like a pretty straight up racing incident of someone going for defense and another trying a pass and we just converged at the wrong spot.

Bike and me are still bashed up but at least I don't feel like a total muppet.

I love that camera angle. It's neat to see how much the suspension travels in turns even when the brakes aren't being applied.
I think you where a bit far back to try a pass anyway, but B-rad totally moved over in front of you.
Nice asphalt shot at the end.

Yeah probably a bit far back but I seemed to have good closing speed into turn 7 and 9 so I thought I could get it done.

I like the sparks coming off the camera case! Looks like I ground a nice gouge into the case but camera is fine.
