5/1 -Bicycle and Moto collision

A friend was cycling up Highway 130 from the San Jose area on 5/1 at about 9:15 AM and came across this screen. As she understands it the bicyclist was coming down and a group of motorcyclists were going up when they collided. There was a group of people stopped attending to the cyclist and he said he was "OK" so all but one of her group continued to climb the mountain. One was so shaken he returned home. When they came down he was being loaded into a Helo, so he was not "OK". She has been unable to find information on the cyclists condition. It appeared the moto guys were ok. Does anyone know how the cyclist is?

Be careful out there folks. This is not the first tangle we have had recently between bicycles and motos. She mentioned to me that she was almost hit head on while riding her bicycle on one of the great roads motos and cyclists like to share in the Southbay. She said the moto rider clipped the corner and that combined with the lean angle put the riders helmet way over the double line into her lane.

To be clear, she does not know what happened here and is not looking for any information about fault. She would just like to know how the cyclist is. Does anyone know?

I rode up there that day, and saw the life flight helicopter.

The sense of urgency didn't seem *that* high to my untrained eye. I'd guess the cyclist was okay for the most part.

Thanks, That is what she said. It took a couple of hours to collect the guy, so she didn't know if that was a good or bad thing. I hope he is ok. The collision tore the back of the carbon frame clean off.

It doesn't take much to do that. I've seen cyclists just crash by themselves - no car, no major impact with anything other than the ground, and the frame is shattered.
