GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (KABC) -- A suspect is in custody after a violent rampage involving a series of deadly stabbings and robberies through Orange County Wednesday, police say.

The violence left four people dead and two badly wounded. There were at least three armed robberies committed, as well, police say.

The stabbings appeared to have no obvious motive other than, in some instances, armed robbery. The suspect was described as "pure evil" and "full of anger."

The Garden Grove Police Department said it started when the suspect, a 33-year-old Garden Grove resident, robbed a bakery on Chapman Avenue in Garden Grove and took cash at knifepoint.

Pretty wild. This just seems really random with no real end game. Dude just drove around robbing and hacking people with 'machete-like' knives

I was reading about that earlier. Was the guy functioning normally up to that point and something set him off. Totally nuts guy should have been obviously nuts all along.

That linked article was over a year old. Might have since put controls in place that reduced the murder rate.

Ironically enough, he did have a gun. At the end. He stabbed a security guard and took his gun. Then he surrendered. See, guns save lives. :rolleyes

Those statistics were sensationalized for a point in time to promote hysteria and advocate for more control over people in London. NYC had a more severe per capita murder rate by the end of the year, although not significantly so if I recall correctly.
