30 Year Old Friend Diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer

One of my beautiful and truly wonderful friends Philecia was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer... she is only 30! While she lives in SoCal, she and her boyfriend are avid bikers, and are both entrenched in the scene down south. I wanted to show her some Bay Area love, so I reached out to all of my soccer teams I have ever coached, played for, or played with and they have come big! I'm matching up to $1000, and my men's soccer team is matching up to $1000 1:1 for a surprise gift to her when I go down to visit July 7th for her Chemo and Headshaving party. I am hoping to give her at least $4000 from my friends and network.

The shittiest thing was that there was a VERY high likelihood of this not even developing to this stage had it been screened and biopsied when they found the lump themselves. The American insurance system is such a fucking joke! She is insanely brave, optomistic, and strong and she has a great support system around her, I just know how much this fight will cost... and god forbid it switch from fight to bucket list I want her to have the financial freedom to make whatever decisions she and her boyfriend need to make.

I'm excited to go down to see her and hopefully give her an amazing gift. Sometimes its the kindness and empathy of strangers that gives us the most unconditional feeling of love. I feel when there is injury that the idea of being a burden to those that are close to us and who are caretakers can sap a lot of strength and knowing that there are strangers who are sending us love or support is somehow more pure. Thoughts have mass and momentum and I want that to hit her like an uplifting freight train!

They are actually down towards Huntington Beach/Long Beach area.
