I’m having trouble buying that the key fob is the cause.
My C6 trunk latch won’t pop unless the parking brake is engaged. The same goes for my current or past cars. None will pop the latch if the car is in gear (auto), or parking brake isn’t engaged.
Surprised they didn’t make the front trunk fold forward.
Well there is some storage there. So while a forward hinged hood has been a Corvette thing since the very beginning, would have been silly to lift stuff over the fenders. Though in hindsight, easy access to a paltry 3 cubic feet of storage, cost them a lot of embarrassment and money with all these flying hoods. Or they could’ve just added a secondary safety latch...like you know, every other car pretty much ever has. From what I’ve seen on corvetteforum, there are already quite a few members of the flying hood club.
This is all on top of the chance to join the flying roof club (which I joined about 15 years ago) should a Corvette owner forget to latch down the targa roof before driving off.
Had a buddy do that with his old Trans Am lol. RE: Frunk - I think it's small enough that it's unlikely anyone is putting anything overly bulky or heavy in there, and the car is not that tall. Making the hood hinge forward would have easily been worth it imo.

Doug is only good for one thing. Interior quirks and features.

They could install hood pins, which would be more than a little comical on a hood with no engine underneath. :laughing
There’s more than a few threads on the forum where owners disconnected the Onstar due to the paranoia of being tracked.
I had a 1984 300zx 2+2 with T-roofs. :afm199i had a 1989 supra ttop, but 1 solid piece no glass, fooq i is old
Those owners probably went straight to Facebook on their smartphone to complain about the tracking.
:laughing
