So, one race on Saturday, two on Sunday, with the first being a "sprint style" race (less laps apparently) in the old "Race 1" time slot and then a full race at the normal time. How does BARF feel about this NEW WSBK RACE FORMAT.

I'm not a traditionalist by any means but this seems a bit taxing both on personnel and equipment. Why not just run the Sprint on Saturday then the long race on Sunday if they really want to shake things up? Also, where do the privateers take any, if any, advantage in this? Thoughts?

It’s dumb. They spilt the 2 races over the weekend to take the burden off of teams in case of a crash or something mechanical.

Now they’ve not only reverted to 2 races in 1 day, but making it 3 total? Dumb dumb dumb.

WSBK is boring enough as it stands. The reverse grid, 3 races and all the other gimmicks they’re going for don’t make it any more interesting.

they just coping Australian Superbike format. They have been doing 3 races a weekend for years w/o many issues.

I think they just do it for more ads to the tv audience, thus more revenue for sponsors. Not much thought was given for the team's new difficulties methinks. :x

Details are still coming. They may just do the three races for the European rounds. There have been reports that some of the European tracks want more activity for spectators on Sunday. The European 1000cc Superstock championship will not return next year and so that leaves a race-length hole in the Sunday schedule at European tracks. Maybe they are just trying to fill up their schedule so they can still offer four races on Sundays (WSBKx2, WSS, SSP300)?

I would rather keep the current format. I didn't see anything about finishing order affecting starting position for the next race. Currently the top 9 finishers get the top 9 starting positions with 1, 2, 3 in positions 9, 8, and 7 and the rest ordered as they finished 4-9 as 1-6.

I like the current two day format. I'm wondering if there is enough time to fix crash damage from the sprint race. But I guess they all have backup bikes anyway, right?
