I enjoyed it... watching the video again was great too.

I put a link to that in the Racers Corner. :port

Great hanging with you and Koi at the banquet. Thanks for hooking us up with some seats.

You are welcome at my table anytime, even if I have to stand to make it happen!

I received an email from Barb / AFM last month that I finished top-3 in class and to send in my sponsor list for the presentation. Also got follow-up emails over the following weeks, offers to buy duplicate trophy, etc. I was a bit surprised since I only did a few rounds, but I checked on Speedhive and sure enough, 3rd place in Ninja Cup Novice!

At the banquet, though, there was no mention of the class, no trophies, no presentation, nothing. Seemed odd (and a bit disappointing). I'm asking here since it's not mentioned in your article list, either... anyone know why we were included in the "you're getting an award!" emails, when no awards were presented?

That class was an exhibition put on by Calishine with the grand prize being the bike that was given out at the last round. None of the points counted for top 10 plate consideration, and Calishine was responsible for providing trophies at the events. The AFM provided track time, nothing more, and that was in the fine print of the promotional material for the event.

As for why you and other racers might have been contacted, I do not know. I do remember seeing that class in the first run of "thank you's" when I was making the posters. I would guess that Barb did not pull those names out when she sent the email(s).

I did update my article to include the final standings for both Novice and Expert for that exhibition class.
