Surprise!!!!!!

Saturday Morning Phil and I went for a little ride up Cottonwood Canyon road.

This is where Cottonwood Canyon road meets hwy 270 at the Bodie entrance

After we headed to do the June Lake loop.

I believe this is Silver Lake. Once again, the weather was very nice.

We went and had lunch in Lee Vining then headed out to Mono Lake.

Stuck at a sharp S curve? If so, it happens two or three times a week.

If you want to get this close to the Tufa towers you need to get there soon as they are not letting SoCal draw as much water. It will take some years but these towers on the south end of Mono will be partially under water.

Hey Laura! It was a pleasure meeting you! Yep, that is the second time I've had that happen to me. We were lucky this time as we had just enough room to sneak on by. It was really a blessing as I didn't have to pass another car the rest of the way down:thumbup Yeehaaaawwww!!!!

While kicking back and enjoying the beauty that surrounded us, mother nature snuck in a little sprinkle to remind us how fast the weather can change in the high country. It was an omen of things to come later at the pool.

Time to head back to the party in Hawthorne.

Interesting vehicle in the parking lot.

Let's see if we can get out before it rains.

On the way back to Hawthorne we ran into mean dad loading sfcootz's bike in the back of his truck. The BARF roadside service had a busy weekend rescuing many a broken bike.:applause

Back on the road again and we pulled over to check out the view of Hawthorne.

Then all of a sudden, mean dad, sfcootz and Brianna put on a passing clinic.

I had to zoom in, lighten and crop after sfcootz told me she was giving us the BARF solute.

After a good full day of riding it was nice to get the feet in the pool
