I checked off one of the items in my MustDo List, I attended the Tourist Trophy Races on the Isle of Man, off the coast of England. This is a weeklong series of 7 races on a 37 mile course; 2 races every other day, except the last day. It is unbelievably dangerous!

My photos can be viewed at IoM TT Photos.

The photos are grouped by day, and by either tour or races, to ease the viewing of the 829 photos.

Info on the TT can be found at IoM TT Info.

I spent almost 2 weeks on a BikeToursUK motorcycle tour that included camping on the Isle of Man to witness the week of racing, and to ride the circuit. It was a trip of a lifetime.

Cheers,
Jim Millington

It cost about $3000 in total; $800 for the tour, $850 for airfare to Heathrow, $1000 to rent a bike for 2 weeks, and the rest in miscelleneous expenses.

I chose a tour because I wanted someone to show me around that knew what he was doing; Bill Roughton at BikeTours-UK was an excellent host/guide, and I highly recommend him. Bill went the extra miles for his guests.

I also enjoyed riding in England north from London to Knottingham, then to Dent the next day, then to Heysham to catch the ferry to the Isle of Man the following day.

Riding in England with Bill was most excellent, but you have to ride on the left side of the road, which took me a while to get used to!

Excellent pics! You must have had an amazing time. I want to go one day!

Yes, it was an amazing time. The people I camped with and at the TT were a big part of this adventure. There were people from not only Britain, but France, Denmark, Germany, US, New Zealand, etc., and everyone was stoked to be there and very sociable. All were friends by the end of this trip.

This adventure included watching one of my new Brit buddies hit a tree on the course at about 110MPH!...I was sure he had died, but being the TT week at IoM, an ambulance was there in 3 minutes, and the MediVac 'copter was there in about another 3 minutes. His Gixxer 1000 literally exploded in a fireball. Amazingly, he survived and just returned home from the hospital to continue his recovery.
