Asking $1200
Selling my 2003 gsxr 600 track bike. Bought off a fellow BARFer ~4 years ago, and did maybe 5 B-pace trackdays in that time. I think my track riding days are over for now, and I hate to see it just sit around, so it's time to let it go.
This is the ultimate cheap, ratty trackbike - it runs and rides great, but you can neglect it, let it sit, or crash it (or all 3) and it just keeps on going without any issues. Case in point, it's been sitting covered in my backyard for months now, and it fired right up today on the first push. This gen gsxr also the best parts availability of any bike I've owned, making it easy to repair.
It's been crashed several times before my ownership, and it shows, but it's made it through plenty of trackdays since then with no issues. Fiberglass fairings are rashed and have a hole in the side (covered by a strategic sticker), and the gas tank has a big dent in it. Aftermarket exhaust can is similarly dented.
Parts list:
- revalved/resprung stock forks for a ~185 lb rider
- penske adjustable shock, similarly sprung
- front m/c from an r6 or something, one of the OEM 'brembo' ones
- stainless lines
- fiberglass fairings of some kind
- vortex rearsets with some custom made replacement pegs that mostly fit
- yosh exhaust, I also have a quieter and much nicer looking Leo Vince stainless can I can throw in
- Pirelli slicks with some meat (and dirt) on them, probably SC1 or SC2
- some kind of gearing, something like -1/+3 but i'm too lazy to count
- Pretty fresh oil and coolant (water)
- Box of spares, including front m/c, levers, pegs, brake lines, pads, etc.
- I also have some nice brand-new adjustable tire warmers and some extra takeoffs I can throw in for an extra $200.
Things that could use attention:
- I'm never sure if seals are just weeping from sitting too long, or if they're actually leaking, but there's some oil around the front forks. They were rebuilt just before my ownership, so ~5 trackdays and 0 crashes ago, so I'm guessing they're just weeping.
- Same with the front m/c - I lent it out to a friend for a trackday earlier this year and she said it was leaking some brake fluid. It seems to be fine now, so maybe the seal got rehydrated in that time. It had been sitting for a while before that.
- The oil drain bolt hole got stripped, so I re-tapped it with a drain bolt thread, since it was all I could find at the communal shop. Doesn't leak or anything, but I'd probably replace the oil pan or re-thread/helicoil to your liking at some point.
- I lost the ram air ducts, probably in the course of moving a while ago
Feel free to PM with any more questions. Not street legal and doesn't have a title, so you'll need to bring a truck.
