Check Kelly Blue book, NADA, CycleTrader, Ebay, Craigslist (even though some people on Craigslist are asking non-realistically high prices and will never be able to sell the bike at their asking price), and know what the current market value of a similar bike is before considering a purchase. Consider the maintenance work or fixes that YOU need to do to the bike, and factor that into the price. It is ok to pay more for a bike that has had all of the maintenance work done to it recently, or pay less and get a bike that needs some work, but you must know this in advance and be ok with it.
    • Inspecting the bike: if you are not experienced yourself, have a mechanic or an experienced friend check the bike before making a purchase. Crashed bikes:This is even more important if you are buying a bike that is being sold at a cheaper price with damages that the buyer is required to fix. In these cases, doing a frame check that will show any frame/fork/geometry damages is HIGHLY recommended. Do NOT simply rely on the information that the seller is providing, even he/she may not be aware of all the problems. Have the crashed bike checked and know what you are getting into.
    • Clean title, Salvage title A clean title doesn't mean the bike is free of serious issues. A Salvaged title doesn't mean the bike may have any problems. Every case is different. Some bikes are seriously damaged in a crash, but an insurance claim is never made on them, so they still have a clean title. Some bikes have had mostly cosmetic damages in a crash, but the insurance company decided to pay off the bike and salvage the title rather than spending the money to fix it. Know what you are getting into and don't make any assumptions based on what the seller is telling you.
    • Registration: Know about the current registration status of the bike. Check with DMV if you have any questions about any possible back fees and other title/registration questions (out of state title, no title with bill of sales only, etc.) before purchasing the bike.

    • Comments within a sale thread should be on topic and educational. Aggressive critiques and inside jokes will not be tolerated. Constructive dialogue is a valuable feature of the barf classifieds section and community as a whole. Flame wars and unsubstantiated accusations help neither seller or buyer. Don't fuck it up, because the next step is disabling the "reply" feature entirely.
    • If you disagree with a price, keep it to yourself. The seller has set the price. If you don't like it, don't buy it and move on. If you really feel strongly about it, then PM the seller.
    • If you are interested in an item, feel free to PM, email or contact the seller privately. Feel free to post if you need clarification... however, your post should be in line with above mentioned rules.
    • If you are aware of a serious issue with an ad (SPAM, stolen goods, a frame damaged bike being advertised as a 'never crashed' bike, etc.) please PM a moderator about it.

For sale, my faithful commuter turned track bike. The bike has only done 5 track days now, this was it's first season. Oil changes with full synthetic every 2 events.

Details:
Powercommander 3 USB with custom map done by BRG racing ( puts down 116 at rear ).
DanMoto black rearsets.
CRG shorty levers.
Scotts Steering Damper.
Custom Stubby from http://www.jesterstrickbits.co.uk looks much better that the big stock can but I got it dyno'ed at BRG.
New clutch plates and clutch cable done at meteor motorcycle last year.
Forks done at meteor motorcycle last year.
Valves clearance check at Contra Costa PowerSports done at 14k service.
Catalyst Suspension tune for 200lb rider - all muscle.
16001 showing on the odometer but motor will be +7k due to engine swap from previous owner.

I converted the bike to track after I had a low speed accident commuting so its a salvage title. Lost the right mirror and some rash, but everything is solid rode her home too. I used the insurance money for track day allowance :thumbup.

I have the stock fairing and OEM headlight to get it street worthy, it's currently in sharkskinz.

Trying to make some money back with all the parts and service, $2500 OBO make me an offer, worst I can do is laugh!

I used to ride a 954 on the track. Getting the itch and thinking of getting back into it again. I'll definitely reach out to you in a bit after I get my finances together. Hopefully it's still around. Decent price for that beast.

I have the stock fairings except for tail. Rash is minimal the crash knob took most of it, and the old two brothers can received a dent, which I still have. You can't tell unless you start looking. I might convert back to street and take more pics this week.

Thx picker, it's a good track bike I think. Good everyday ride as well with comfy ergos. Its been garaged during my ownership and used minimally. As a commuter I only went into the office 2 days a week if that, and only 5 track stints - so she's in good condition.

New pic I put up is post-accident. You can see there is a small white blemish under the RR decal, and a small dent in the exhaust can. That was the extent of the rash.

Converted back to street legal. You get the track fairing, Dan moto set, a spare rear tire that needs a patch - dern nails! I just want to move the bike now so first 2k gets her. Regged through to December 2019.

Bike is stable at over 140 mph down thunderhill main straight - only damage was rash, and a small dent on the two brothers can. It's been replaced with a stubby ( jesters in the UK ) and dyno'ed since w/ HTEV pinned open. The right side knob picked up most of the contact thankfully. Just changed the oil too - so theres that.

Also have a harbor freight trailer that I was using to get my bikes to the track, might throw that in for an extra 200 if you're looking.
