i was planning on turning this 1996 honda CBR600f3 into a track bike, but due to some bad finacial planning on my part i'm going to have to sell it instead. i picked up this bike crashed a few months back. the owner had lowsided it & it had not ran in 4 years.
i took it home & began to fix everything. i had to buy a used radiator from another barfer, since it was fubared in the crash. i replaced the lower triple clamp, not because it was bent, but because someone had crossthreaded the clamps pinch bolt so bad it looked like smooth metal instead of threads.
i had gerry @ gp frame & wheel straighten out the front rim, have the paperwork for that & mounted a front dunlop d209gp take off, in med hard compound. great tire for warm summer days. after i got the front end taken care of i started on the motor....valve adjustment, 13 out of spec, then i cleaned & sync'ed the carbs.
the bike has a factory-pro config 10 kit & is jetted for a k&n air filter, which i've cleaned & re-oiled. i also replaced the gasket on the ignition cover because it was leaking. the previous owner had tried to replace it & left a few small bits of the old gasket on the case side, causing the leak. once all that was done i spent several hours cleaning the ever living shit outta the thing, motor, swing-arm, shock linkage, bodywork, etc...
its clean....really clean. currently i'm looking for a front fender & a small airbox part & i need to get the rear turn signals in & the title transfered to me, or straight to you if thats an option, though the bike hasn't been reg in 4 years so i'm sure theres some kind of fees, but we can work that out.
it will also need a rear tire & front brake pads soon & its been down, i took pics of all the damage. i'd also like to run a full tank of gas through it before i sell it, so i'm just trying to get an idea if folks are interested for 1800.00
